I’ve always loved the camera-work in this scene. And I abide by my Supreme Rule: ALWAYS REBLOG THE DANCE.
Very cinematic. I know a lot of fans think that Matthew kissing the corner of Mary’s mouth was a mistake on DS’s part and that the director just left it and didn’t reshoot but I’ve never agreed. Too much went into the setup and camera-work for this shot and if Dan would have done something as wrong as missing her mouth they would have done another take. I mean, they’re spinning FFS! So everything about the kiss is very deliberate and very intentional, IMHO.
